Millennium Fellowship Project: For My Sisters

"For My Sisters" is a transformative project that aims to address an essential need for girls in underprivileged communities: access to sanitary towels. This initiative champions the provision of free, quality sanitary towels to girls who lack reliable access, empowering them to break barriers and focus on their education and personal growth.

About the Millennium Fellow

My name is Christine Nyakio Mwangi is a sophomore Computer Science student at United States International University-Africa in Nairobi, Kenya. I am passionate about bridging the gap between classroom learning and practical application to empower students for success in the dynamic global landscape. Having experienced challenges during her gap year related to lack of experiential learning opportunities, I have made it my personal decision to steer the seamless integration of experiential learning opportunities with traditional academics through my project. Through this project, I plan to forge strong collaborations among educators, policymakers, and employers, where we envision a future where every student, regardless of their background, gains access to diverse learning avenues that nurture their intellectual curiosity and career aspirations.
