Millennium Fellowship Project: Better-Edu-Better-Society

Embarking on a transformative journey at Friends Anduru Educational Center, a primary school nestled in the heart of Nairobi County, has been an enriching experience. As a dedicated volunteer, I have committed a total of 80 hours between August and November to impart knowledge and support to the eager minds of underprivileged students hailing from the challenging surroundings of Korogocho Slums.

My involvement extends beyond the classroom, as I passionately engage in securing donations to uplift these deserving students. Through collaborative efforts, we aim to bridge educational gaps and create meaningful opportunities for the youth in one of Nairobi's most marginalized communities. Together, we strive to foster a positive learning environment, unlocking the potential of each student and contributing to the broader goal of empowering future generations.

Join me on this inspiring journey as we make a lasting impact on the lives of these students, providing not just education, but also hope and a pathway to a brighter future. Together, let's sow the seeds of knowledge and compassion in the fertile grounds of Friends Anduru Educational Center.

For the Millennium Fellowship update, I was able to secure partners who generously contributed 1.4 million Kenyan shillings. With this funding, we are planning to renovate a building that is currently in poor condition at Friends Anduru Educational Center (Korogocho Slums Nairobi). Additionally, we are planning to add two containers to create two new classrooms. This will help reduce congestion, as we currently have three classes sharing one room. The Millennium Fellowship has been instrumental in this milestone, providing support and a platform for networking, which helped us connect. Before the end of this month, we will embark on the journey of changing the lives of children at Friends Anduru Educational Center.
