Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Utopia
“All that is valuable in human society depends upon the opportunity for development accorded the individual” by Albert Einstein is the most appropriate quote that comes to my conscience when I reciprocate the journey of Utopia. With much anticipation, we want to introduce the brilliant team members of our project Utopia. We are a part of the selected projects all across India and the world who have been selected to work and represent in the Millennium Fellowship. Being from XIM University also, gave us the wonderful opportunity as classmates to bring had an unsurmountable contribution by working in this project. We have Arpita Elise Edgar and Anish Pani as the President, along with Swayam and Siddhant Das who hold the positions as the Vice President. Also, we would like to introduce Ayush Patnaik who holds the position as Treasurer and Himangini Das who holds the position as the Secretary of the project.
On behalf of all our team members, as presidents, this is Anish an Arpita and we would like to expedite the deliberation. It has been an amazing experience for us to be a part of this amazing experience in the millennium fellowship, getting to participate in amazing sessions and most importantly, learning and listening inspirational and stories of struggle has enhanced our thoughtfulness. It has also extolled a plethora of confidence in our team and each and every member has vivaciously learnt important values from the program.
Notwithstanding the fact of Millennium Fellowship being such an amazing experience, one of the most important things that has further improved our fellowship experience has been our cohorts. Since many of our classmates are in our cohorts, the degree of our interaction and discussions has been very intuitive. One of our CO-Presidents Arpita is also the Campus Director of the Millennium Fellowship, along with Kusumita add up the experience by wonderfully creating a crafting journey for all the fellowship through beautifully curated training sessions where we had fruitful discussions on various important crucial topics governing around global education, health, poverty, inequality.
Moreover, Millennium Fellowship has been an amazing experience for all of us and having extensive discussions on topics of global repute not only has enhanced our leadership qualities but also it has been an important factor for all of our consolidated statures. The most important aspect of our fellowship is all of the great discussions has been translated into cross project discussions and even we have been having a two-way discussion with the other projects our cohorts and there has been a great comradery that has resulted in a collaborative splurge among all the projects including us.
Utopia so far has been amazing in its execution. From the humble beginnings of the project, we have had come along a long way, in an untraveled path, unravelling deeper, inquisitive and perforated aspects of life. From doing beach cleanups, understanding nature and focusing on renewable and clean energy, our project has come along a long way. We have taken this project a lot far in our emphasis on inequality in education, focusing on livelihoods where we have visited rural schools and have a lot of deliberations and teaching them was a different experience and the most important aspect was the understanding of the grassroots problems. Even more since we have to do a minimum of three sub projects as a part of our main project, we have also focused on other important problems, keeping the key focus on sustainable cities and communities by visiting a small hamlet near our university where we had predominant discussions with the localities about the flooding and denudation problem, that they face every year.
It has been amazing experience for all of us to learn something out of box and all of our team members thank XIM University and Millennium Fellowship, including all our cohorts, who have done a tremendous task in making the fellowship amazing and incredible.
