United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Shatter the glass

Shatter the glass is a project that works on addressing issues about women empowerment, sexual health, limited access to reproductive health services for young women in Addis Ababa University and the community of Addis Ababa. The aim of this project is breaking the harmful social and cultural norms that restrict the autonomy of young women and empowering them to be the future leaders of Ethiopia.

About the Millennium Fellow

Dagmawit Bedilu is a passionate advocate and trainer in sexual and reproductive health and environmental health. She was born in Ethiopia and currently studying medicine in Addis Ababa University. She has dedicated her efforts to promote awareness and empower individuals. As the founder of a volunteering group that works on women's empowerment and equality, she actively work towards creating a more inclusive society. Additionally, she serve as a capacity-building trainer for university students. Her unwavering dedication contributes to building a healthier, equitable, and empowered world through United nations sustainable development goal achievement.
