Millennium Fellowship Project: Oral Health Empowerment
The "Oral Health Empowerment" project focuses on enhancing oral wellness among
chronically ill patients, who face increased risks of oral health issues. Its primary
objective is to empower these individuals through education about the significant role of good oral hygiene in overall health. The program will feature interactive
demonstrations aided with models and informational brochures, offering customized Instructions.
Chronic illness can lead to neglect of oral hygiene due to fatigue or reliance on
caregivers. By raising awareness and providing education, this initiative aims to
improve oral hygiene practices, helping patients avoid unnecessary dental visits and
related complications.
Participants will gain practical skills to effectively maintain their oral health and
understand the importance of routine dental examinations to prevent worsening
conditions. so the project seeks to equip both patients and caregivers with the
essential knowledge to promote better oral health and enhance overall well-being.
About the Millennium Fellow
Melon Ephrem Asseffa is a bright, young and globally competitive dental student at addis ababa university of college of health science. She was born in ethiopia, bahirdar and resides in ethiopia, Addis Ababa also studies their. For as long as she could remember, Melon has always been passionate about her advocacies for oral health practices. This drive and ardour translated itself from melon's experiences in the international community and her continued dedication to social action. Throughout her high-school years and currently in her college years she has successfully organized various oral health campaigns and screening programs which Through outstanding leadership she plans to continue in the future. Melon aspires to be in a professional field where she can cultivate these advocacies further and provide her own contribution in the development of the United nation's sustainable goals
