Millennium Fellowship Project: Behibret Cancer Initiative
The Behibret Cancer Initiative is dedicated to combating the growing threat of cancer. As the prevalence of this devastating disease continues to rise, I firmly believe it is time for us to unite and work together. The term "Behibret" is derived from the Amharic language, meaning collaboration for a common purpose. Our initiative has two primary goals:
1. Awareness and Education: In 2026, we aim to educate 100 individuals aged 15 to 25 about cancer prevention, early symptoms, risk factors, and available medical treatments. By raising awareness, we hope to empower young people to take proactive steps in their health journeys.
2. Support for Affected Individuals: In 2027, we plan to provide emotional, educational, and financial support to 50 individuals who are already affected by cancer, along with their families. Our goal is to help them navigate the challenges they face during this difficult time. Together, we can make a significant impact in the fight against cancer and foster a community of support and understanding.
