Millennium Fellowship Project: Ado Mental Wellness Initiative
Ado Mental Wellness Initiative (AMWI) is a project that aims to promote mental health awareness, providing support and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health issues in my community. The project activities included writing articles and opinion pieces, conducting outreach programs and the use of questionaires to ascertain the needs of our target audience. This initiative reflected a commitment to nurturing a culture that prioritizes mental well-being alongside physical health.
About the Millennium Fellow
Ireruke Emmanuella Oghenetega is smart, hardworking and enthusiastic medical student at Afe Babalola University. She was born in Nigeria and resides in Abeokuta, Ogun state. For as long as she can remember she has always been passionate about science, especially medical science. It would be the little things from reading encyclopedias to watching science programs on the television. Emmanuella dreams of becoming a doctor that makes a difference, she's seen the poor healthcare and health seeking behaviour in the community around her and it drives her to achieve this dream. She thinks of becoming a psychiatrist but she's also open to other options and possibilities the world of medicine has to offer and people she can reach which this. She's excited to apply her skills in the United Nations' Sustainable Goals.
