Millennium Fellowship Project: Iya at'omo- Mother and Child
Iya'at omo is a project coined from the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria, which means "mother and child." It primarily targets women and mothers. This study primarily targeted a subgroup of the population in Ido Ekiti, Nigeria. This initiative was completed by organizing health seminars for women and sharing brochures to effectively spread knowledge.
About the Millennium Fellow
Asita Onisodueniya is a final-year medical student at Afe Babalola University in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. He is passionate about exploring the connection between health and environmental sustainability. Raised in Port Harcourt, a city renowned for its rich culture and extensive oil production, he has personally observed the environmental challenges affecting the area. His goal is to promote climate stability by encouraging sustainable practices in healthcare. After graduating, Onis intends to specialize in public health and focus on initiatives that tackle the effects of climate change on human health.
