Millennium Fellowship Project: Iya at'omo- Mother and Child
Iya'at omo is a project coined from the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria, which means "mother and child." It primarily targets women and mothers. This study primarily targeted a subgroup of the population in Ido Ekiti, Nigeria. This initiative was completed by organizing health seminars for women and sharing brochures to effectively spread knowledge.
About the Millennium Fellow
Sharon Nathan is a 600-level medical student at Afe Babalola University. She was born in River State, port Harcourt, and is currently studying in Ekiti State. She hopes to make an impact and possibly a change in the medical practice of her country and the world through this platform. She currently holds a position in the senatorial house in the medical association at her school.
