United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Local Action Global Impact

The LAGI Project aims to empower young people with knowledge of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and enhance their Global Citizenship skills. This will be achieved by facilitating sessions on the SDGs. This edition of the initiative focused on university students due to the ongoing break in the university.

About the Millennium Fellow

Ali Gaddafi Bappa is a driven and ambitious Law student at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. His strong commitment to social justice and human rights is deeply rooted in his experiences and a lifelong dedication to making a positive impact. A natural leader, Gaddafi has a proven track record of organizing successful philanthropic initiatives and social justice campaigns throughout his secondary school and university years. His practical application of legal knowledge extends to his roles as a Law Clinician, the Director of Research and Publication at the Ahmadu Bello University Law Clinic, and a paralegal in the Reforming Pretrial Detention in Nigeria phase II, by the Public and private development Centre, Abuja, Nigeria. A project Supported by the United States Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs. Through these experiences, Gaddafi is gaining invaluable first hand exposure to the challenges faced by marginalized communities, enabling him to effectively support social justice at the grassroots level. He aims to build on these accomplishments in the future and pursue a career that allows him to champion these causes on a larger scale. Ultimately, Gaddafi aspires to contribute significantly to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
