United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Local Action Global Impact

The LAGI Project aims to empower young people with knowledge of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and enhance their Global Citizenship skills. This will be achieved by facilitating sessions on the SDGs. This edition of the initiative focused on university students due to the ongoing break in the university.

About the Millennium Fellow

Aliyu Musa is a driven and passionate young leader, dedicated to creating positive change in his community. With a strong background in advocacy, community engagement, and project management, he has made a significant impact in promoting civic participation, good governance, social justice and peace building. As a skilled mobilizer, Aliyu has successfully rallied thousands of individuals to take action on various social issues. The projects include #TeamLAGI and #RCVAdamawa23.
Through his work with renowned organizations, like Connected Development, CITADEL Initiative, transparencIT and Search for Common Ground, Aliyu has honed his skills in stakeholder engagement, advocacy, and project management. He is a recipient of several recognition award like the CITAD's Report a Project Competition and has participated in prestigious programs, including YLDP 2023, COMITAS II Fellowship, and Civic Changemakers Fellowship 2024.
Aliyu is dedicated to continuing his work in promoting the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals and creating a lasting impact in his community.
