Millennium Fellowship Project: Protect your Mental Health
A Mental Health Awareness Campaign at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, would focus on educating students about mental health, reducing stigma, and providing support for those facing academic, social, and family pressures.
Objectives:
1. Education: Provide information on mental health challenges and coping strategies.
2. Stigma Reduction: Normalize discussions about mental health.
3. Support Access: Highlight available counseling and mental health resources on campus.
Activities:
A. Workshops and seminars on managing academic stress. B. Peer support groups to address social and family pressures.
C. Campaigns on social media and campus notice boards to promote awareness.
Impact:
A. Improved mental health awareness among students.
B. Encouragement to seek help without fear of judgment.
C. Better academic and personal well-being.
D. This campaign ensures students in ABU Zaria receive targeted support to thrive under pressure.
About the Millennium Fellow
Esther Friday is a bright, young intelligent and passionate student of Public Administration at Kongo Campus, Institute of Administration, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. She was born in Kaduna State, Nigeria. Esther has always demonstrated excellent leadership skills and qualities as well as commitment to service throughout her stay in secondary school (high school) and currently in her undergraduate days. She has become a mentor to junior students and offer a free service of personal development coach.
She aspires to be in a professional field which will provide her with an opportunity to advocate for the sustainable development goals.
