United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

" I'm being driving by the seal to help others succeed academically, as a result of my experience and knowledge gathered through my course of study, it gives me an insights on the problem facing education in Nigeria and I tends to leverage on this towards determining what to do to help improve the lives of young children in my community.
Seeing a project (Millennium Fellowship) that align with my ambition is what interest me most, and I feel much excited my dream is coming to be a reality. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Five Paths, One Goal

Five Paths, One Goal aims to transform lives in Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria, through education and innovation, tackling poverty and inequality focuses in five SDGs (1, 4, 8, 9 and 10).
Key Focus Areas:
1.⁠ ⁠Community Outreach and Engagement in Samaru, Zaria 2.⁠ ⁠Education Initiatives (Literacy, Vocational Training)
3.⁠ ⁠Innovation Hubs (Entrepreneurship, Prototyping, Mentorship)
4.⁠ ⁠Monitoring and Evaluation
Target Beneficiaries: Students, and out-of-school children in Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria.
Goal: Align with select Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and create a brighter future for Zaria communities.

About the Millennium Fellow

Yusuff Adelakun is a passionate educationist from Nigeria, West Africa, who is dedicated to working towards sustainable development goals in his community. He is currently studying at Ahmadu Bello University, Samaru, Zaria. An educational administrator and planner in making. Yusuff's drive for initiating improvement of education and eradicating illiteracy comes from his desire to make a positive impact in his community. He believes that education is the key to facilitating socio-economic development, reducing poverty, and improving the quality of life of children and young adults in Nigeria. Through his work, Yusuff is aiming in contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals in Nigeria, and inspiring others to follow suit.
This will result in adequately contributing to the growth and development of his community as well as contributing to the sustainable development goals (SDGs) in the community and the nation at large.
