" My project will introduce a possible solution to reduce antimicrobial resistance in Egypt especially in Alexandria through two parallel phases: Phase 1 will target the public through a social media campaign on different social media platforms. This campaign will include videos and posts that describe the era before antibiotics to aware them aware of this circumstances, then we will ask them why they didn't complete their antibiotics course through an online questionnaire, so we can introduce different solutions according to their answers. Phase 2 will target health care professionals including physicians, nurses, and pharmacists. This phase will be a short webinar in some hospitals in Alexandria. In this phase, We will introduce statistics about the circumstances to make them more aware of it, then we will make a questionnaire asking physicians some questions to estimate the most antibiotics they prescribe according to their specialization, asking pharmacists if they dispense antibiotics without prescription, and what is the most antibiotic they dispense, and then we will ask nurses about the reasons for not completing antibiotics course by patients, then we will introduce WHO AWaRe book to them showing why and how they should utilize it during their work. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Health Without Resistance

Our project, Health Without Resistance, focuses on combating Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) with the motto "Tomorrow's Lifesavers." Our team has been actively raising awareness both online and offline, targeting fellow pharmacists to emphasize our role in addressing this urgent issue. Through talks, we encourage pharmacists to recognize their responsibility in society to spread awareness about the dangers of excessive AMR use.
To reach a broader audience, we create short, impactful videos on social media aimed at educating the public. Additionally, we gather surveys from pharmacists, asking them about their engagement in raising awareness and seeking their professional perspectives on how AMR affects society, especially given their close interactions with patients in community pharmacy settings. This project highlights not only the importance of informed practices but also the role pharmacists play as frontline defenders against AMR, advocating for a healthier future.
