" Learning and creativity, fueled by systems thinking, are the things that help me achieve my goals. Being a part of the Millennium Fellowship will enhance these skills. The skills I will gain from the Millennium Fellowship will make my social impact on rural communities more tangible and aligned with the UNAI principles and SDGs. I am excited to increase my anticipatory competence by envisioning new ways of learning and creativity. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: MenyaMindset Initiative
Menya Mindset is a social initiative focused on improving mental health awareness and care in rural Rwanda. The project aims to bridge the gap in mental health services by educating communities, reducing stigma, and building resilience to the psychological impacts of climate change, such as natural disasters and environmental degradation. Through workshops, advocacy campaigns, and partnerships with local organizations, Menya Mindset empowers individuals to prioritize mental well-being while fostering a supportive community environment.
About the Millennium Fellow
Kundwa Blandine Dusabemungu is an ambitious business entrepreneurial leadership (BsE) student at the African Leadership University. She was born and raised in Kigali, Rwanda, where she lives. For a very long time, Blandine had always wanted to make an impact on her community, advocating for the well-being and empowerment of women. This drive and ardor translated themselves from Blandine's experiences in the community and her continuous dedication to social action. Throughout her high school years and currently, in her college years, she has projects to reduce mental health cases in rural areas, which, through her outstanding leadership, she plans to continue in the future. Blandine aspires to be in a professional field where she can further cultivate these advocacies and contribute to the development of the United Nations' sustainable goals.
