Millennium Fellowship Project: iShine Initiative
iShine Initiative is a youth led organization that is on a mission to bridge the gender gap in education within Nigeria and hopefully do the same across various African communities.
This project aims to combat the problem of gender gap in education in Nigeria by actively advocating for the girl child and all that concerns her in regards to education. We’re the voice of the voiceless using social media as a tool to create awareness on the importance of female education and the dangers of pausing the dreams of young girls at an early stage because of cultural, religious, societal beliefs and harmful gender stereotypes. This project also seeks to empower this young girls by actively engaging them in mentorship programs, providing basic school materials and creating an environment where they can build their hope and give them a reason to pursue their dream again because it's never too late.
