" I believe that if I had been aware of what was happening to me at the age of eight, I could have avoided it. Starting Ìsinmi was like creating a safe haven for someone like me, a place where survivors can find support and where awareness is raised to prevent others from enduring the same pain. I'm eager to join the Millennium Fellowship because I know I can't make the world a better place alone—I look forward to working with other great minds to create lasting change. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Ìsinmi

Ìsinmi aims to provide rest for survivors of sexual abuse in Nigeria by building a community that promotes peace and sanity for survivors by leveraging education as a powerful tool to enlighten and eradicate sexual abuse within the country and Africa at large.

About the Millennium Fellow

Oluwadamilola Jacobs is a driven student at the African Leadership University in Rwanda, originally from Lagos, Nigeria. From a young age, she has been deeply passionate about addressing the issue of sexual assault across Africa. This commitment led her to establish Ìsinmi, an initiative dedicated to helping survivors of sexual assault find healing and rest. Through Ìsinmi, Oluwadamilola provides comprehensive support to survivors, encompassing mental health services, financial assistance, and community resources. Additionally, she leverages education as a powerful tool to raise awareness and foster a more informed and supportive society on the subject of sexual assault.
