" I am incredibly excited to join the Millennium Fellowship program because it provides a unique platform to amplify my efforts in creating meaningful change, particularly for people living with disabilities. This program brings together like-minded individuals who are passionate about making a difference, offering the perfect environment to collaborate, learn, and grow as a leader.
My passion for engaging in projects dealing with people living with disabilities stems from a deep belief in equality and inclusivity. I have witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and am driven to advocate for their rights, ensuring they have access to quality healthcare, education, and opportunities for a fulfilling life. The Millennium Fellowship will not only enhance my skills but also connect me with a global network of changemakers, empowering me to make a larger impact in this vital area. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: A Million Smiles Kenya

A Million Smiles Kenya is a project dedicated to supporting children with disabilities. The initiative seeks to create a positive impact by fostering inclusivity, providing essential resources, and organizing activities that promote empowerment and joy.
One notable visit was to SCOM Children’s Home, a facility that cares for children with disabilities. During this visit, the project team engaged in activities such as painting, guidance and counseling, games, and sharing a meal with the children.
Future plans include hosting more sessions with added activities like a modeling competition to crown Mr. and Mrs. Disability SCOM, aiming to boost the self-esteem and confidence of the participants while celebrating their individuality and talents.
The overarching goal of A Million Smiles Kenya is to bring smiles to children with disabilities by enhancing their quality of life and advocating for their rights and needs in society.
