Millennium Fellowship Project: DirectHarvest
Middlemen exploit local farmers, buying produce at unfair rates, and making enormous profits selling to consumers. This project aims to serve as a bridge between consumers and farmers, allowing transparency in the agricultural supply chain.
About the Millennium Fellow
Shaun Joseph Sunny is a bright young student studying in Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. Born and raised in the United Arab Emirates, he grew up in a melting pot of culture, a hub of the world. As an Indian, he has been proud of his country’s rich heritage and culture. Service has always been a major aspect of his life. A quote that inspires him is by one of the most famous Indian poets, the Bard of Bengal, Rabindranath Tagore, who said, “I slept, and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. I acted, and behold, service was joy.” Service has always been key in his actions. He is currently studying engineering in the hopes of being able to create solutions that can change the world for the good.
