" As a Millennium Fellow, I am excited to collaborate with like-minded peers to drive meaningful change. I believe that impactful social work begins with small, thoughtful actions, and this fellowship provides the platform to turn ideas into real-world solutions. I am motivated by the possibility of creating a more inclusive and equitable world, and this opportunity allows me to channel my passion into tangible progress. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: The Asawarpur Tuitions

I was teacher in a club at Ashoka University where kids from Asawrpur used to come and study from us. But due to lot of problems ranging from good funding, to parents' resistance and delay in classroom booking etc, club was in trouble. I wish to start a project where me along with a group of people go to Asawarpur or book a place at Ashoka itself where we can teach these kids. The condition is so bad that a 9th grade kid can't do three digit division and multiplication. Teachers hit kids and don't teach properly. Many kids are unable to take the tuitions and some do. The extra classes taken by kids in tuitions drastically improve the outcomes but at the same time creates a divide. I wish to finish this divide by providing tuitions to all the kids of Asawarpur but I don't have enough understanding of how can I do so. I believe that fellowship will give me access to great network to not only learn but also get good funding for the project. Further if possible I would want to integrate these tuitions with school and work with the school itself if possible.
