" Become empathetic and grounded.I am a firm believer that education and entrepreneurship are the two ways a society can achieve equity and reach better standards. I am keen on leveraging my privileges to better the society for the less fortunate and Lovsy for me is the best way to move forward with it. I am excited about the fellowship because of the networking I will be able to do with the similar minded and the skills I will develop as well. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Entrepreneurial Education
Entrepreneurial Education involves running an entrepreneurial venture that inspires youth entrepreneurship and economic growth in Nepal. The project caters to health-conscious customers both domestically and internationally by selling premium fruit candies made from indigenous Nepali hog plums (Lapsi). With the help of Ashoka University, we have sold over 250 units in just a few months, and we intend to grow internationally. From a social impact perspective, we have collaborated with a small factory that employs fifteen youth workers, providing a steady income to support their families. If expanded, Entrepreneurial Education has the potential to generate a significant number of youth jobs in Nepal, where the rate of unemployment for individuals between the ages of 15 and 24 is approximately 10%. Since small businesses make up 98% of Nepal's private sector, every enterprise matters. Beyond creating opportunities directly, we want to showcase enterprising solutions to the 1.6 million youth who migrate abroad each year for work as well as education. We aim to influence pro-business policy and motivate youth to drive innovation through their startups and initiatives. Fundamentally, Entrepreneurial Education is our commitment as a young entrepreneur to demonstrate how we can uplift marginalized groups in Nepal through strategic enterprises.
