" I want to be a member of Millennium Fellowship because I come from a country where all of the girls are isolated from the community, and the worst part is that they are not even allowed to pursue their education, and I am currently working on a project that will provide online opportunities for Afghan girls to continue their education. So I'd like to learn more about how to better apply the project and move it ahead. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Gender Equality In Education
My project focuses on creating an online school designed to provide Afghan girls with access to education—a fundamental right they have been systematically denied. This initiative is entirely free, with no fees or hidden costs, as a direct response to the gender inequality that has limited their educational opportunities. Beyond academics, this school serves as a beacon of hope and empowerment for girls who have been deprived of formal learning. Recognizing the significant educational disparities caused by cultural and political barriers in Afghanistan, our team, including myself, has voluntarily committed to sustaining and expanding this initiative.
About the Millennium Fellow
Savita Rahiab is a bright and motivated Afghan girl who was born in Afghanistan, graduated from high school, and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in psychology there. Unfortunately, when the Taliban took over Afghanistan, she was unable to complete her study. She is now an engaged student of public health at Asian University for Women, pursuing all of her hopes and goals.
