Millennium Fellowship Project: Alpha Educational Society

The Alpha Educational Society is a transformative initiative dedicated to empowering Afghan women by enhancing their English language proficiency and advocacy skills. Originally established as a face-to-face educational center in Kabul, Afghanistan, the program transitioned online following the political upheaval in the country. Now offering cost-free education, it provides vital learning opportunities to girls across Afghanistan, as well as displaced Afghan girls residing in Iran and Pakistan.
The program, conducted entirely online, is driven by a team of over 10 dedicated volunteers, each guiding over 20 students per class. This personalized approach ensures that participants receive tailored support, fostering confidence and equipping them with the skills needed to advocate for women's rights and access higher education.
During the Millennium Fellowship period (August to December 2024), the project aims to positively impact up to 50 individuals by achieving a minimum of 100% improvement in English proficiency among participants, measured through pre- and post-program assessments. Additionally, the initiative will encourage participants to engage in at least two online advocacy campaigns, amplifying their voices on a global scale.
Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and the UN Academic Impact Principle of Capacity Building, the Alpha Educational Society envisions a future where empowered Afghan women can secure international scholarships, create pathways to higher education, and contribute to transformative social change.
Impact Goals:
Achieve a measurable 100% improvement in English proficiency for all participants.
Facilitate active participation in at least two online advocacy campaigns per participant.
Vision:
To create a ripple effect of empowerment, enabling Afghan girls to advocate for their rights and pursue their dreams of education and equality, ultimately contributing to a more inclusive and equitable world.
