United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Through this fellowship, I hope to develop valuable skills that will allow me to nurture myself to become a competent visionary and development practitioner that makes concrete change within communities. Millennium Fellowship Project: LettuceLearn!

LettuceLearn! is a one-day workshop that teaches students living in urban settings such as high-rise condominiums or apartments to start gardening. Through the use of hydroponics kits, LettuceLearn! provides students a way to grow their own food in the confines of their small urban space.

About the Millennium Fellow

Pia Begtang is a young, bright student from the Philippines studying AB Development Studies in the Ateneo de Manila University. Passionate in community development, environmental sustainability, indigenous peoples rights, and disability sensitivity and awareness, Pia hopes to makes positive change alongside the communities she loves.
