Millennium Fellowship Project: Model United Nations
The Model United Nations Society at University of Birmingham Dubai is a student-led initiative aimed at fostering global awareness, diplomacy, and leadership skills among students. Our mission is to create a platform where participants can engage in simulations of United Nations proceedings, encouraging discussions on pressing global issues, collaboration, and creative problem-solving.
Through organized conferences, workshops, and inter-university events, the society aims to nurture critical thinking, public speaking, and negotiation skills, empowering students to be effective global citizens. By simulating real-world challenges, the project aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 16: "Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions," by promoting peaceful dialogue, understanding, and capacity-building among young leaders.
As a Millennium Fellow-led initiative, this project aspires to expand its reach, include diverse student voices, and foster meaningful partnerships with like-minded organizations to amplify its impact within and beyond the university community.
