Millennium Fellowship Project: Combating Human Rights Abuses in Nigeria
My project focuses on combating human rights abuses in Nigeria by raising awareness, advocating for policy changes, and empowering communities to stand against injustice. Through education campaigns, workshops, and collaboration with local organizations, the project aims to address issues such as police brutality, gender-based violence, and lack of access to justice. By engaging with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, nonprofits, and affected communities, the initiative seeks to foster accountability, promote human rights, and create a safer, more equitable society.
About the Millennium Fellow
Eniola Falade Sharon is a dedicated student of International Relations at Bowen University, Iwo, Nigeria, currently residing in the United Kingdom. Born in Oyo, Nigeria, Eniola has always been passionate about human rights, politics, and technology. During her time at Bowen University, she has actively contributed to her department, serving as the Assistant Social Director of the Political and Diplomatic Student Association (PDSA) for the 2023/2024 academic year and currently holding the position of Social Director for 2024/2025. Eniola is also a key member of the PDSA Radio Team and BUI News, where she helps broadcast news to the student community.
Her dedication to advocacy began early, inspired by her experience in secondary school when she joined the Sign Language Unit to communicate with the deaf, recognizing their challenges in being understood and advocating for their rights. A survivor of human abuse herself, Eniola's personal experiences have deeply shaped her aspirations. She envisions a future where she can be a leading voice in the fight for human rights, particularly for those who have been marginalized and silenced. Her goal is to become a philanthropist and a prominent human rights advocate, using her platform to address issues of injustice and inequality on a global scale. Eniola is committed to leveraging her background in international relations, her passion for technology, and her leadership skills to create meaningful change. She aspires to be a beacon of hope for those who feel voiceless, working tirelessly to ensure that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, has the opportunity to be heard and treated with dignity.
