" Creativity can only bear fruit in a community or system fueled by thinking of like-minds. The Millennium Fellowship is that community and working with a community as such will bring my dream to fruition. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Empower A Girl: Shape A Future
Empower A Girl: Shape A Future
This is a project solely focused on secondary school girls. The project is focused on empowering young girls with the needed skills, knowledge, and giving them the opportunity to understand their concept and the exercise of their rights as girls in the society. It also focuses on taking them through the lane of sex education and sexual purity, surviving skills a they need especially in their personal development and a letter of healing from past experiences and hurts. All these were imbedded in a 15 pages booklet. I was able to reach out to 25 ladies from the Bowen International Schools and it was all fun. One other thing is that these young ones find it hard to speak up especially when they're going through something very serious and it was practical in my outreach. I gave them the ground to speak up there and also talked to them on how to always speak up no matter what the issue is. It was also observed that most of them are going through low self-esteem. I also addressed this with the knowledge I've and with my experiences as most of these are exactly what I've passed through and that's why my project basically came from the place of empathy, humility and inclusivity. I also believe in reward for a good work done. In the month June 29, 2024, I launched my debut book sold for 3000 per copy. I took some of the copies there and also gave to some of the girls for free for being attentive and responding to questions asked and also being able to ask questions. I took a picture with the school's principal as well after capturing the moment with the girls.
This is the entailment of my project.
