Bowen University Iwo | Iwo, Nigeria | Advancing SDG 3, SDG 5 & UNAI 9

" I’m excited about the Millennium Fellowship because it will help me grow my passion for promoting mental well-being and healthier lifestyles. I’ve been involved in different health programs and have seen how powerful health advocacy can be for both individuals and communities. Through the Fellowship, I hope to build on my work in supporting Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by creating a space where students feel encouraged to take care of their mental health. I believe the Fellowship will help me improve my skills and spread my message further, so I can eventually lead public health projects that make a real difference in mental health both in Nigeria and around the world. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Our Mind Our Mood
My project aims to create a supportive community that educates and empowers university students on mental health issues. Recognizing the crucial role mental well-being plays in our lives, we strive to build a campus culture that values and prioritizes mental health. There is no more critical and opportune time to prioritize mental health on college campuses, the COVID-19 pandemic has made discussions about mental health more acceptable, but real change requires dedicated action.
“the only limits in life are the ones you create in your mind,” this project focuses on fostering positivity and providing practical support to students. My mission is to help students better manage their mental well-being, reduce stigma, and create a healthier, more supportive campus environment.
