" "I am thrilled to be a Millennium Fellow because it offers a platform to amplify my passion for storytelling and oral health literacy. I believe that everyone deserves access to quality education and healthcare, regardless of their background or socioeconomic status. Through my work with the Bayero University Storytelling Festival and Wellness Smiles Initiative, I aim to empower marginalized communities and inspire a new generation of leaders to tackle the sustainable development goals. I'm excited to collaborate with like-minded individuals and leverage this fellowship to create a ripple effect of positive change in my community and beyond!" - Moses Edozie "
Millennium Fellowship Project: A Drug-Free Campus
Our project addresses the growing issue of drug abuse among university students, focusing on prevention, education, and support.
The project seeks to reduce substance misuse by fostering awareness about the risks of drug abuse and equipping students with coping skills to handle academic and social pressures healthily.
Through workshops, peer mentorship programs, and partnerships with mental health professionals, we aim to create a supportive campus environment that encourages open discussions on substance use and mental well-being.
By providing evidence-based education and accessible resources, our initiative empowers students to make informed choices, reducing the stigma associated with seeking help and fostering a culture of resilience.
The ultimate goal is to build a community that supports long-term wellness, thereby creating a lasting social impact on both individual lives and the university as a whole.
