Millennium Fellowship Project: Feminist Community and Advocacy
In my project, I have aimed to strengthen the feminist community across my university, making it a safer and more inclusive space. I have advocated for the rights of women and girls and tried to raise awareness about different issues. I will be continuing this work until i graduate through fundraising and events.
About the Millennium Fellow
Lois Ireland is a philosophy and theology student at the University of Cambridge, with ambitions of becoming a human rights barrister. Lois is passionate about how law and policy can be used to improve the lives of women both in the UK and around the world, and has dedicated herself to advocating for gender equality and increased awareness of feminist issues. She is the founding president of a feminist society which runs various campaigns and initiatives, and has volunteered with UN Women UK as a delegate for the UN CSW68, and as a 'guardian angel' to promote safe and inclusive spaces. She is currently an ambassador for Girls Human Rights Hub, a charity dedicated to fighting for gender equality. She is excited to work on her Millennium Fellowship project and continue her work in global women's rights advocacy.
