Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Road- SURE

Road SURE is a road safety initiative aimed at addressing the increasing traffic-related issues in Bangalore, particularly around educational institutions. The project seeks to create safer roads by promoting awareness, encouraging responsible road usage, and implementing practical safety measures. Collaborating with UN fellows, Christ University students, local government officials, and police, Road SURE undertook impactful activities such as a helmet distribution drive and educational lectures by road safety experts.
A significant milestone was drafting a strategic plan to improve safety near schools and colleges, resulting in increased traffic police deployment and monitoring. The initiative emphasizes community involvement and collaboration to foster a culture of safety and accountability. With a vision of reducing accidents and building safer road infrastructure, Road SURE is making a tangible impact by enhancing road conditions and promoting responsible behavior, benefiting students and the broader community alike.
