" Growing up in India, I witnessed the harsh reality of income inequality and poverty, where children were deprived of an education due to the primary pursuit of survival. This led me to question: How can the youth, the future leaders of India, create a better tomorrow if they themselves are deprived of the opportunity to learn? Witnessing the transformative power of education in my own life, I realised that who else, if not for those individuals with the awareness and means, could use their voice to stand on behalf of these children? I believe that significant progress often requires stepping out of one's comfort zone and challenging the status quo. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Know Your Wallet

We aim to empower children in government schools and collaborate with children-based NGOs in Urban Bengaluru who lack financial literacy programs. To ensure accessibility and reach the target population effectively, we will conduct our sessions in the regional language, Kannada. Our curriculum covers fundamental concepts of personal finance, including understanding money, budgeting, saving techniques, and the basics of banking. To make learning fun and engaging, our sessions are highly interactive, integrating art, games, and animated cartoons.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, India underwent a significant digital transformation, witnessing a shift from traditional paper money transactions to the Unified Payments Interface (UPI). In light of this, our initiative aims to address a crucial segment of society: adults working in the unorganised sector. Our focus is on equipping them with skills to navigate this digital realm by teaching them how to open a bank account and utilise digital payment methods for seamless fund transfers, bill payments, etc.
