" I am excited to take up the Millennium Fellowship because it aligns with my vision of creating an impact on the society. The fellowship provides a platform to work on projects that directly contribute to sustainable development, social justice, and global citizenship. By participating, I look forward to advancing these principles, particularly in promoting inclusive and equitable education, fostering global partnerships, and empowering communities through meaningful social impact initiatives. Millennium Fellowship Project: Healing Horizons: Breaking Silence, Building Resilience
Healing Horizons: Breaking Silence Building Resilience is a group initiative by my fellow Shreyaa MR and myself. We aimed to reach out to as many students as possible from our campus, and provide them with any help they need with regards to their mental health, specially anxiety. We planned to collaborate with some psychologists we know who were specialised in the field to help us with this project. With the help of these Doctors, we conducted 2 general meetings where we discussed all that this initiative planned to do and encouraged any conversation that the students wanted to have. We also encouraged the students to be comfortable and they can choose to remain anonymous if they wish to. The students actively engaged in the session and talked to the doctors personally in case they needed a one-one session for them. We also asked them for feedback to know if the project was impactful and if it improved their student life in the University and we were very happy to hear positive responses from lot of them.
About the Millennium Fellow
A hard-working and passionate individual, working towards creating her imprint in the world like every other.
Shreyaa M R, pursuing BA Economics Honors, at Christ (Deemed to be University). As a student right from her schooling, she has always been equally inclined to academics and extra-curriculars, as she strongly believe that it is the things you learn outside the books that makes you a 'complete human-being'. Her interest in dance, art, elocution, sports along with her promising academic results has given her the right balance of motivation she needs in every step of her life. As a person, she identifies herself as an honest, diligent human-being, one on whom teammates can rely on. She has her own morals and principles set, within which she tries to live by every day. As an extroverted person by nature, she never hesitates to start a conversation and that has helped her through the way to get connected to people and take up responsibilities. All my skill sets have awarded me with various leadership roles, and I've always felt that I'm at my best when given such roles. To summarize, an honest person, an aspiring student who is constantly up for learning new things and sharing responsibilities, one who works better with deadlines and is always bound by morals in life.
