Millennium Fellowship Project: Neelgoon
Neelgon is an independent project led by Millennium Fellow Tahmina Painda, aiming to use technology to provide access to psychology and mental health education for Afghans, with a particular focus on Afghan women.
About the Millennium Fellow
Tahmina is a fourth-year undergraduate student at Columbia University, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Computer Science. She has been a member of the School of General Studies' Honors Society and was recently awarded a Change Agent Award. Born and raised in Kabul, Afghanistan, she has a deep passion for women’s empowerment, social justice, and human rights. Tahmina is particularly committed to raising mental health awareness within the Afghan community. She is a student scholar at the Institute of Global Politics and has served as the president of the Afghan student Alliance at Columbia, where she leads the organization’s events and
initiatives.
