" Living in a country such as Pakistan, where privileged have access to not the basic needs, but mind jarring desires too. Whereas, on the other hand the lower class struggles to get by day with enough food and resources. Moreover, the lack of education in this country makes you wonder and think of ways to make a change in the minds of people around us. Hence, after discovering this fellowship, I was entrenched to be part of this amazing opportunity, and hopefully work for the greater good. This fellowship provides a system and a process so a student of my age can navigate their personal interests and education as well. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Agrarian Harmony

Agrarian Harmony designed to empower low-income communities by promoting sustainable agriculture and self-sufficiency in food production. The project aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
The initiative aims to provide individuals with resources such as egg-laying chickens and kitchen gardening tools, enabling them to cultivate vegetables and produce eggs at home. This approach not only ensures food security for households but also creates opportunities for economic empowerment through surplus produce. By encouraging community farming practices and responsible food production, Agrarian Harmony addresses issues of hunger, unemployment, and sustainability, fostering a harmonious relationship between communities and their agricultural roots.
This project also incorporates education and collaboration with NGOs, focusing on capacity building and raising awareness about sustainable farming techniques to amplify its impact.

About the Millennium Fellow

Menoona Shoaib is an incessant reader by birth, she manages to squeeze in her TBR list in her everyday even if it was for ten minutes. Moreover, she's deeply motivated and encouraged by her family, in every decision that she makes, and all this comfort and encouragement has allowed her to focus and empathise with the less-privileged things in life. She sincerely believes that there is a constant need for change in the society especially when living in Pakistan, and she'd be grateful to be part of anything that is socially productive
