Millennium Fellowship Project: The Queer College Mentor Project

The Queer College Mentor Project aims to provide support and resources for LGBTQ+ high school students applying to college, free of cost. The initiative pairs high school students with college mentors who understand the unique struggles of the college admissions process for queer students. Mentors are provided with training and resources to ensure that they are able to support their mentees. The Project also aims to build community through workshops and events that bring mentor-mentee pairs together and allow participants to connect with other LGBTQ+ students across the country. This project is working towards democratizing access to higher education and alleviating some of the struggles that come with applying to college as an LGBTQ+ student.
