Millennium Fellowship Project: Degradation of Plastics in Resin

This project explores the degradation mechanisms of plastics embedded within resin matrices. The research aims to identify how various environmental factors — such as UV exposure, temperature fluctuations, and chemical interactions — affect the structural integrity and lifespan of plastic-resin composites. By analyzing degradation processes at the microscopic and macroscopic levels, the study will provide insights into the durability, recyclability, and environmental impact of these materials. Findings from this project could lead to improved design of sustainable composite materials and strategies for enhancing the lifespan of products using plastic-infused resins.
