United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

" Being a part of the Millennium Fellowship will enhance my communication and
leadership skill more as I wish to work with more like-minded people who are keen to
solve various issues in the society. Through this platform I want to make social impact
on communities, educational institution and others aligned with the UNAI principles
and SDGs. I am excited to learn more through this fellowship which will increase my
competence and skills. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Sanit Chitta

The "Sanit Chitta" project aims to improve sanitation practices and awareness in urban slums, particularly focusing on children's health and well-being. The Key Activities are:
1. Community Assessment: Conducted a survey to understand the current sanitation conditions, awareness levels, and challenges faced by the community.
2. Awareness Campaign: Organized a campaign to educate the community about the importance of sanitation, hygiene, and menstrual health.
3. Material Distribution: Provided essential sanitation items like soap, masks, hand wash, and sanitary pads to the community members.
4. Capacity Building: Demonstrated proper handwashing techniques and other hygiene practices.
By empowering the community with knowledge and resources, the project seeks to:
1. Reduce the spread of diseases.Improve overall health and well-being.
2. Create a cleaner and healthier environment.
3. Foster a sense of community responsibility towards sanitation.
The project aims to establish a sustainable model for improving sanitation in urban slums, leveraging community participation and government support. By cultivating a culture of cleanliness and hygiene, the project hopes to contribute to the overall development and prosperity of the community.

About the Millennium Fellow

Israt Zahan Rensy is friendly, bright, enthusiastic and globally competitive student
majoring in Forestry, at Institute of Forestry and Environmental Sciences in University
of Chittagong. She was born in Chittagong, Bangladesh. For as long as she could
remember, Rensy has always been passionate about her advocacies for social
injustice, women’s right, climate change awareness and environmental issues. She has
impressive communication skill, keen to learn and is a quick learner. In her high school
years and currently her undergraduate years, she has organized and took part in
various social justice movement, philanthropic works and environmental activities for
creating awareness in the society. Rensy aspires to be in a professional field where she
can cultivate these advocacies further, and can contribute in making a better world
through development of United Nation’s Sustainable Goals.
