UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MCN PROUDLY PRESENT OJJASWINI GUPTA, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2024.
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University | Sonipat, India | Advancing SDG 8, SDG 4 & UNAI 3

" Empathy and compassion are primarily the two main factors fuelling the passion behind Ojjaswini's desire to be a part of the glorious MCN network. Like she mentions earlier, her driving force behind every little step is her wish to make things better for the people belonging to regions of conflict, to make their voices heard and to bring their human rights at an equal footing with the rest of the world. She owes a major chunk of it to the violence that she witnessed in her tender growing years culminating in this deep sense of neediness to help the people around her. UN MCN is intended to be a first step in this long journey that she will pursue, and she's very grateful for this opportunity. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Handbook Of Rights
The MCN Handbook of Rights project, led by our Millennium Fellowship cohort, empowers underprivileged university workers by providing accessible information on employment rights, labor laws, and government schemes. Aligned with SDGs 4 (Quality Education) and 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), the project simplifies complex regulations into an easy-to-understand handbook featuring visual aids. Through targeted distribution and awareness sessions, the initiative aims to increase workers' awareness of their rights, enhance confidence in claiming entitlements, and create a lasting resource for their benefit. Despite challenges in accessibility and engagement, the project envisions broader dissemination and digital expansion to ensure sustainable impact.
About the Millennium Fellow
Ojjaswini Gupta is a fourth-year law student at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat. In her growing years, she constantly witnessed ethnic violence in and around her, from arsons to people being shot right in front of her eyes. With time and age, the aftermath of these incidents contributed deeply to her sense of empathy and determination to champion the cause of human rights. It has given her this sense is belongingness and sympathise with the people in the regions of conflict across the world. She ultimately wishes to pursue an LLM in human rights and international law, and hopefully become a legal officer in the UN and champion the cause of SDGs subsequently. UN MCN has proved to be her very first step towards this journey.
