United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Tree Nursery Initiative For Sustainable Environment

The project's mandate was to educate youth and farmers on the importance of agroforestry at affordable cost by laying tree nurseries either as groups, cooperatives or at personal level, moreover, education was provided on choice of trees to be planted and favourable location.

About the Millennium Fellow

RODGERS KIPLETING MELI is a student at Dedan Kimathi university of Technology, Kenya persuing Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication and Information Engineering, a peer counsellor by profession,moreover, he's a promising athlete and he has also showcased great concen in environmental conservation leading him to be selected as an environmental Advocate for FXB climate Advocacy Program (USA). Rodgers has also expressed great interest in Leadership and once served as a chairperson for Dedan Kimathi university Wildlife and Environmental Club. This has not only shaped his leadership skills but also exposed him to various Environmental concerns and interest to learn more. Besides that, Meli is a nature enthusiast and this has enabled him to explore different places while conducting environmental conservation and even summiting Mt Kenya to Lenana Peak last year June. Meli is not only a promising young leader but also a mirror to the current society.
