" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because this opportunity allows me to apply the theoretical knowledge I have gained to real-world situations, enabling me to make a meaningful difference. Being part of this internship will broaden my horizons and enrich my understanding, fostering both awareness and exposure. The hands-on experience will help me hone essential skills like communication and teamwork, while also providing a platform to expand my network, paving the way for future career prospects and mentorship opportunities. As part of society, I recognise that everyone has a moral responsibility to contribute positively. The Millennium Fellowship provides me with the perfect opportunity to put my experience to good use, even if my contributions may seem small. I am eager to do my part for a cause that truly matters. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Fly High, up in Sky!

Education has long been recognized as a powerful catalyst for societal transformation. However, the challenge lies in aligning education with its true purpose—nurturing individuals who are not only self-sufficient but also actively contribute to the development of their communities. The Indian education system, until the introduction of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, predominantly revolved around a “theory-examination-grade” framework, with limited emphasis on practical applicability and holistic growth. Recognizing this gap, "Fly High, Up in the Sky!" aims to redefine the essence of education by advocating for practical, inclusive, and community-oriented approaches to learning.
This project seeks to bridge the divide between theoretical learning and real-world application, particularly at the grassroots level. By engaging key stakeholders—including school students, college students, and children with special needs—the initiative will highlight the importance of experiential learning, inclusivity, and awareness about the NEP 2020. It will emphasize the need for education to empower individuals with skills, knowledge, and values that foster personal growth while contributing meaningfully to societal development.
The project blueprint comprises three structured events designed for diverse student demographics, including schools, colleges, and special education groups. These events will be conducted online or offline based on the target audience's convenience. To ensure the sessions are engaging and impactful, 1-2 interactive activity sessions will be incorporated, breaking away from monotonous lecture methods. This approach will foster hands-on learning, encourage active participation, and create a participant-friendly environment that resonates with the audience.
Pre- and post-intervention assessments will be conducted to assess the progress and effectiveness of these initiatives. Moving beyond conventional IQ tests, the evaluations will examine the quality of education in terms of practical applicability, understanding of the NEP 2020, and inclusivity. These assessments will provide a realistic snapshot of the existing educational landscape, identify areas for improvement, and highlight the extent to which the project’s objectives have been achieved.
