University of Delhi North Campus | New Delhi, India | Advancing SDG 4 & UNAI 2

" I'm excited to be a Millennium Fellow because this platform will provide me with an international audience with whom I can share my work. From a very early age, I've always wanted to help others and contribute to social work. To pursue this passion, I joined an NGO called Prayan Foundation, where I serve as the unit head for a division focused on the social and mental development of children.
At Prayan Foundation, we conduct numerous activities that foster creativity and broaden the mindset of young individuals. We are committed to building a society with healthy and courageous minds. Additionally, we work with orphanages, employing various teaching and learning methods to support and uplift children without parents. I believe that for those who lack parental support, it's our responsibility to use our abilities to help them. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Sukriti
Sukriti is a community-driven project focused on addressing the educational needs of underprivileged students, aiming to provide them with access to practical, life-enhancing skills that go beyond traditional academics. The project is aligned with SDG 4 – Quality Education, and targets students aged 4 to 21, particularly those from marginalized communities. Sukriti organizes a variety of workshops that focus on important aspects of personal and academic development, such as digital literacy, personal safety, sustainability, and hygiene.
The key workshops include sessions on cyber security and artificial intelligence for older students, introducing them to safe online practices and tools for academic enhancement. For younger children, Sukriti offers creative workshops like waste-to-best, teaching them to recycle and reuse materials, fostering both sustainability and creativity. Personal safety workshops, including a good touch and bad touch session, aim to increase awareness about boundaries and safety. A special focus on hygiene for girls is also an integral part of the program, promoting self-care and confidence.
Through these initiatives, Sukriti strives to empower students by broadening their knowledge, building confidence, and equipping them with the skills necessary to navigate modern challenges. The project’s long-term vision is to create a more equitable education system where every student, regardless of background, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
