" As a Millennium Fellow, I will get a firm foundation to execute my project effectively. This fellowship will serve as a medium for me to initiate change in society. Within the ambit of this fellowship, I will get the opportunity to strongly and effectively integrate the SDG Goals with my project and work towards their realisation. Being a Millennium Fellow will not only be an honor but more importantly, it will instil a profound sense of duty and responsibility in me as a person and a leader. Being associated with this fellowship will allow me to refine my project such that it perfectly aligns with the UN Goals. It will enable me to spread my wings as a change-maker and a leader, soaring high in the skies of social transformation and empowerment. This holds immense potential to nurture my future social impact work. I will be more vitalised, more motivated and intellectually driven to undertake meaningful social change projects in the future as well. The fellowship is a call to duty, a responsibility etched into my role as both an individual and a leader. This distinction doesn't just alter my path; it steers the collective journey towards a more empowered society. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Empowering & Elevating Urban Slums

Empowering & Elevating Urban Slums' focuses on the various problems faced by the dwellers of urban slums. The major issues that we focused on centred around basic awareness, advocating menstrual health and hygiene, educating young children and working on interventions to reduce stigmatization and stereotypes faced by some members such as those who are differently-abled or are part of the LGBTQ+ community. To advocate menstrual health, I organized easy-to-understand and interactive workshops with proper demonstrations explaining the usage of sanitary products. Doubt sessions and subsequent follow-ups will follow this. To work towards educating young children-classes, games, and fun stuff every week were ensured. To tackle the issue of stigmatization, we engage in awareness drives and 'bursting-the-myths' sessions. We're not just chatting about all these issues. Nope! We're putting together these super interactive workshops and sessions. And hey, it doesn't stop there. We're having these cool sessions where any question goes, and we'll keep checking in afterwards to make sure everyone's good. Together, we're making big waves to make urban slums a place where everyone thrives.
