Millennium Fellowship Project: Graduation For Seema
Studying in Delhi University, India, I've witnessed
many Open University girls enrolled in SOL
(School of Open Learning) because of either
financial burden or household work. They get
less time to dedicate to academics because of
reasonable reasons, and sometimes, they are
the sole earners in their whole family. My project,
GRADUATION FOR SEEMA wishes to analyze
the section in this community which is deprived
to the point that Bachelors is the only education
they can afford but want to pursue their Masters
and Doctorate, but are unable to. This project
would come up with possible solutions through a
physical and statistical engagement and wishes
to make an appeal to the government to either
support the family in some way so that the
burden of earning could be shared or provide
them with paid internships on the basis of merit
which would help them to further the study and
earn at the same time.
