United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Green Akhuwateers

Green Akhuwateers are a dedicated group of around 30 students from Akhuwat College for Women in Chakwal, passionately addressing climate change issues. Through awareness campaigns, tree planting initiatives, recycling prodeucts, sewing cloth bags, and sustainable practices, they aim to inspire their community and foster environmental stewardship. Their efforts not only contribute to the global fight against climate change but also empower young women to become leaders in sustainability. Together, they strive to create a greener, more sustainable future for all.

About the Millennium Fellow

Alina Ghaffar is a dedicated student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature. Known for her exceptional communication skills, she effectively engages with her peers and professors, showcasing her ability to articulate thoughts clearly and persuasively. Alina’s passion for literature is complemented by her diverse talents in creative writing and public speaking. In addition to her academic pursuits, she is actively involved in various leadership programs, including Aspire and the Millennium Fellowship Program, through which she hones her leadership abilities and expands her network. Alina's commitment to personal growth and community service reflects her aspiration to make a positive impact in the world.
