Millennium Fellowship Project: Green Akhuwateers
Green Akhuwateers are a dedicated group of around 30 students from Akhuwat College for Women in Chakwal, passionately addressing climate change issues. Through awareness campaigns, tree planting initiatives, recycling prodeucts, sewing cloth bags, and sustainable practices, they aim to inspire their community and foster environmental stewardship. Their efforts not only contribute to the global fight against climate change but also empower young women to become leaders in sustainability. Together, they strive to create a greener, more sustainable future for all.
About the Millennium Fellow
Maryam Sattar is a bright, young and globally competitive BS English student at Fatima Jinnah women University Rawalpindi, Pakistan. She was born in Faisalabad, Pakistan and did her Intermediate there. She is now currently studying in Chakwal; truely a citizen of the world. For as long as she could remember, Maryam has always been passionate about her advocacies for social justice, immigrant's rights and women's rights.Throughout her life, Maryam has seen various social movements through which she planned to continue these movements in future by her better leadership skills. Maryam aspires to be in professional field where she can use her abilties for the development of United Nations' Sustainable Goals.
