" One thing that drives my passion for community impact is the need to help people especially in disadvantaged communities in Nigeria. I believe everyone should have access to the best healthcare and all relevant informations regarding health and this is a personal drive to achieving that. I believe there's so much work to be done, and I'm excited to be given the opportunity to serve. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Sexual Health and Reproduction for All

My project titled Sexual Health and Reproduction for All was an initiative born to address the many problems that arise due to misconceptions about sexual practices and safe abortion especially in this part of the world. The project was aimed at secondary school students and also university students. The first part of this project took place on my campus here in FUTA and I was able to partner with the Students Union Government of the school to sensitize students here about the right and appropriate sexual practices, how to ensure they make the best practices to ensure sexual health and safety. I was privileged to speak alongside some great men which included the commissioner of health of the state and the Chief Medical Director of FUTA Health services. The health talk and symposium happened on the 20th of September, 2024 and the crowd of students around were educated and sensitised about their reproductive health and topics on safe abortion were also tabled and discussed. The project featured an interactive session after the talk and students were about to anonymously direct questions related to their sexual health to me and I was able to answer accordingly to the best of my knowledge. This project is a very important one to me and I intend to continue it even beyond the platform of this fellowship.
