" Currently, I’m pursuing a career in public policy, combining my passions for STEM, climate activism, & volunteerism to aid marginalized communities worldwide. Participation in the Millennium Fellowship would allow me to further spread awareness of my work centered around sustainable development in local, national, & global communities by engaging my campus to drive collaborative action, thus encouraging diversified conversations that leverage the full innovative potential of all global citizens! "
Millennium Fellowship Project: NEST4US
I’m Esha Venkat from the United States, a 19-year-old sophomore at Georgia Institute of Technology majoring in Public Policy and minoring in Global Development! I’m also the co-founder and COO of the nonprofit NEST4US, where, through 5 core programs, we address over 14 SDGs and a plethora of social issues including global hunger, social justice, mental health, quality education, poverty, climate action, and more! Through a dual approach of awareness and action, we’ve impacted tens of thousands in 30 countries across six continents with our team of over 8,000 volunteers from all demographics!
My project is to examine the Georgia Tech food waste and hunger landscape through interviews with sustainability personnel and host two service projects per month and weekly community free food distributions to food-insecure families, and recruit more volunteers on and off campus to assist me in the conceptualization and implementation of these projects.
