Gujarat National Law University Gandhinagar | Gandhinagar, India | Advancing SDG 5, SDG 10 & UNAI 6

" From a young age, I have been perplexed by the stark differences in privileges and liabilities borne by men and women in society. As I grew older, the normalization of these unjust inequalities became increasingly troubling. I realized that my calling in life is to dedicate myself to narrowing this gap, even if only by a few inches. Being a Millennium Fellow is a privilege I seek to leverage as a platform to share and learn from the experiences of others, and to undertake projects aimed at achieving the common goal of justice. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Samman
Our initiative, titled "Samman," is focused on raising awareness about domestic violence. The primary objective is to educate women about their legal rights in combating domestic violence.
About the Millennium Fellow
Ananyashree Jaiswal has always been deeply concerned about social inequalities. Growing up in a society with patriarchal roots, she was troubled by the pervasive gender biases. Choosing law as her career, she found her calling in ensuring that no young girl feels inferior due to her gender, striving to make society more inclusive. She believes that “when the going gets tough, the tough get going,” and embraces challenges as opportunities for growth and learning. As part of a domestic violence project, she aims to improve lives and gain experience for future initiatives. She believes in strength of teamwork and values each contribution.
