United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Fostering Female Leadership - NETRUTVA

Balika Panchayat is the initiative taken by GNLU students in the village of Koba in order to promote goal 5 and 10. This project looked into the root problem of underrepresentation of women in the policy formation. Thus leading to an void between the real problem faced by women and policies made to solve them. By choosing an representative from the younger generation of women, they have increased their say and representation in the policy formation. This particular initiative has helped the women to easily keep their issues and problems in front of the society without any hesitation. This initiative has also enhanced the confidence and decision making power of women in the society.

About the Millennium Fellow

Jahanvi Raval is a passionate and diligent student of law at Gujarat National Law University. She was born in Mehsana, a town situated in Gujarat, India. Jahanvi has always been a passionate advocate for human rights and women’s rights. this is evident from her active participation in various projects and initiatives over the years. She wants to continue her work in research and advocacy on advancing women’s rights, gender equality, and human rights issues while also contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
